Controls

The controls of the montracĀ® system consist of IRM-IOL-TC2 modules, which manage shuttle communication and control. These modules use infrared technology to interact with the shuttles, while cams integrated into the track adjust shuttle behavior, such as speed and stopping positions. This combination enables precise, shuttle-specific control, ensuring flexible and efficient operation.

Features & Benefits

  • IRM-IOL-TC2 modules are optoelectronic communication units that are installed along the montracĀ® rail.
  • Enable infrared communication with the shuttle.
  • Can be controlled via IO-Link (via an IO-Link master connected to a PLC) or via two digital I/Os in SIO mode.
  • Can be operated completely autonomously depending on the application (e.g. curve monitoring).
  • Cams (A, B or AB) are typically attached to Tracs to influence the behaviour of the shuttle, e.g. for speed adjustment.
  • Each time a shuttle passes a cam, its behaviour changes depending on the cam type.
  • Electrically switchable cams allow control functions to be activated or deactivated as required.
