The panel meter or HMI then displays live positioning of each device. They provide accurate feedback for various input types and are most often used in conjunction with jog controls.

Note: Duff-Norton recommends the use of an HMI for applications that require more than two feedback devices.Cost for panel meter controls is higher than HMI controls for applications with more than two feedback devices.

Digital Display Control Methods

Method 1 - Digital Display Controls Using and HMI

As the motor turns the actuator the feedback device output changes.
The controller reads the output from the feedback devices and displays the actuator position on the HMI
HMIs can display positions of multiple devices on one screen.

Controllers can accept 4 – 20 mA, 0 – 10 VDC, and pulse type inputs.
Common feedback devices are linear sensors, potentiometers, and incremental encoders

Method 2 - Digital Display Controls Using A Panel Meter

As the motor turns the actuator the feedback device output changes.
The panel meter reads the output from the feedback device and displays the position of the actuator
Panel meters can accept 4 – 20 mA, 0 – 10 VDC, and pulse type inputs.

Panel meters come in AC or DC powered models.
Each feedback device requires its own panel meter
